A "no IP" situation is usually related to local network connectivity. Please follow these step-by-step guidelines to resolve the issue. Note: After trying any of the major steps below, restart the DAS, wait 1 minute, and check if the IP appears on the screen.
Phase 1: Basic Physical Checks
Before moving to software troubleshooting, ensure the hardware is communicating properly:
- Check that all physical connections between the DAS and the router/network are secure.
- Try a different LAN cable (for example, use the blue cable from another DAS if available).
- If a router connection does not work, try connecting the DAS directly to a laptop using the blue LAN cable (and vice-versa).
- Long-press the play button for 10 seconds. The lights on the DAS will change, which can sometimes prompt the IP to appear.
Phase 2: When the IP is Unknown (Not on Screen)
If the IP is still not showing on the DAS screen, try to locate or force it using your computer:
For this you need to use the device name as defined in this set up tab, here is the help center article link (by default your device name will be the DAS number which you can find at the sticker behind the device): Set up - DAS number
- Search via Browser: Open Google Chrome/Edge and type the DAS name followed by .local (Example: DAS_1018.local).
- Search via Command Prompt (Ping): 1. Open the Command Prompt (CMD) on your Windows computer. 2. Type ping followed by your DAS name (Example: ping DAS_1018). 3. Check if the IP address populates in the CMD window.
Phase 3: When the IP is Known (But the DAS is Unresponsive)
If you have the IP address saved in your browser favourites or you have retrieved it via a Ping test, but the DAS remains unresponsive, you may need to reset the operators file."
Scenario A: The DAS is accessible via the Web Browser
- Type your IP address followed by :80 into your browser (Example: 169.254.197.211:80).
- Go to Setup, scroll down, and click Unlock files.
- Go to Files.
- Select and remove ONLY the operators file. (⚠️ Warning: Do not remove any other folders or software files, as this will impact DAS functionality).
- Restart the DAS. A new operators file will generate automatically.
Scenario B: The DAS is NOT accessible via the Web Browser
- Open Windows File Explorer on your computer.
- In the address bar at the top, type \\ followed by the IP address (Example: \\169.254.197.211).
- Locate and delete ONLY the operators file. (⚠️ Warning: Do not remove any other folders or software files, as this will impact DAS functionality).
- Restart the DAS.
Note: IP addresses vary from location to location. An IP used during initial lab setup might not work on your local network.
