In a previous article, we explored the (absolute) colour and (relative) time algorithmic parameters that allow the Delvotest® Accelerator Smart (DAS) to accurately determine NEGATIVE vs POSITIVE results—that is, its Working Principle🔗. In the Settings tab, these parameters, organised as a set constituting what we call a 'method', are available for view and management. In this article, we explore the context and purpose of these methods.
Access, Context and Purpose
To access the Settings tab, you'll first need to sign in a the administrator🔗. Once there, you should see the following, pre-selected data for method-DelvoT.
method-DelvoT is the standard, certified by AFNOR method for use with Delvotest® T plates. Its parametric values have been meticulously defined to allow the DAS to test Delvotest® T plates according to its detection specifications for raw milk samples from cows🔗, goats and/or sheep🔗. Similarly, method-DelvoSPNT has been developed to perform according to Delvotest® SP NT's detection specifications🔗.
‼️Very importantly, these are the methods required for performance compliance—and, depending on your context, also often regulatory—unless alternative approaches are closely developed and validated closely with our expert support to address unique local circumstances. Typically, circumstances which reasonably merit customised methods are those for testing:
- Raw milk samples which contain preservatives, and/or other non-standard inhibition and/or pH impacting substances.
- Raw milk samples from dairy species other than cow, goat and sheep.
- Raw milk samples from goat and sheep with non-standard specifications.
- Other dairy matrices, such as colostrum, creams, milk powders, and so on.
In such cases, a thorough local validation framework🔗 must first be designed, from which then a robust execution plan can be derived. However, before anything, if any of these circumstances apply to your local conditions, the very first step is to contact us at support@delvotest.com to jointly start the process. Any methods developed without our support put your operations at risk, as they will not be compliant and therefore also not entitled for case-specific support from us.
