🚧 Managing Software

This guide will help you upgrade the software on your Delvotest® Accelerator Smart (DAS) devices, manage multiple upgrades, and check the current version. We’ll walk through each step, ensuring your devices run the latest software efficiently. In this article, we will cover the following topics:

  1. Upgrading Software for a Single Device
  2. Upgrading Multiple Devices
  3. Removing the Current Software Version
  4. Checking Active Software Version

1. Upgrading Software for a Single Device

New software for the DAS is provided in a file named version_X.tar.bz2, where X represents the version number. Upgrading a DAS involves three key steps:

Step 1: Copy the New Software File

  • Navigate to the Setup page and locate the "software version" section.
  • Click Choose file to open a dialog box, select the software file (e.g., version_xyz.tar.bz2), and click Upload file.

Once uploaded, the "new package" value will update, and the Upgrade software button will appear.

Step 2: Extract and Install the Software

  • Press Upgrade software to extract and install the new software. A progress bar will display the installation status.
  • When the installation is complete, the "Last installed version" value will update.

Step 3: Reboot the DAS

  • The new software won’t activate until you reboot the DAS. You can either:
  • Turn the DAS off and on manually, or
  • Click Restart application in the Setup page to restart it directly from the interface.

After restarting, you may see a connection error. Wait 30 seconds, then refresh your browser to reconnect.

Once rebooted, the system should reflect the new software version.

2. Upgrading Multiple Devices

You can upgrade multiple DAS devices connected to the same network by following these steps:

Step 1: Upgrade One DAS Device
Follow the instructions above to upgrade one DAS device to the latest software.

Step 2: Power Up All DAS Devices on the Network
Ensure that all devices are in Idle mode before proceeding.

Step 3: Update Other Devices from the Setup Page
Go to the Setup page of the upgraded device. Under Update other devices, select Software and click Start to begin the upgrade process across all connected devices.

Step 4: Monitor the Upgrade Progress
The progress can be monitored from the Overview page, where each device’s status (e.g., copying, extracting, done) is displayed.

Step 5: Reboot All Devices
Once the upgrade is complete, reboot all devices to ensure they are running the new software.

3. Removing the Current Software Version

In some cases, you may need to revert to a previous software version. This option is available for software versions 0.1.99 or higher. This function should be performed when recommended by a DELVOTEST representative.

How to Remove the Current Software:

  • Navigate to the Setup page, log in as an administrator, and click Remove current software.
  • After removing the current software, refresh the browser to see the previously installed version.

Click Restart application or manually reboot the DAS to complete the process.

4. Checking Active Software Version

To verify that your DAS is running the latest software version:

  • Log in as Administrator, go to the Setup page, and scroll down to the Software version section.
  • Compare the installed version with the latest version available on the Delvotest® website.

Summary

By following these steps, you can ensure that your DAS devices are running the latest software, manage updates across multiple devices, and revert to previous versions when necessary. For the latest software and documentation, always refer to the Delvotest® website.

Next Steps

Now that your device is running the latest software, it’s important to manage who can access and operate the system. In the next article, we’ll guide you through viewing, uploading, and managing operator access (🔗).
