In this article, we will guide you through verifying and maintaining the correct incubation temperature of your Delvotest® Accelerator Smart (DAS). Every DAS is calibrated at production by our manufacturing partner, Hangzhou Allsheng Instruments, and includes a Calibration Statement🔗 to certify to its temperature performance. This factory calibration ensures that your DAS is set to operate at approximately 64°C, as certified by AFNOR with Delvotest® T plates🔗. Maintaining this temperature range is critical for obtaining accurate and reliable test results. If, after following the steps below, you find that the device's temperature performance lies outside the ±2°C tolerance, please contact us at support@delvotest.com to arrange a replacement since local temperature recalibration is currently not possible.
Required Reference Materials
To verify your DAS's temperature, you will need to prepare the following:
- Thermal silicone grease or paste
- Calibrated thermometer
e.g., the Testo-925 with a flexible thermocouple probe. - Timer
Executing Verification
Below, we'll walk you through the necessary steps to verify that your DAS(es) are operating at the correct temperature. Following these instructions will help you confirm that your device is functioning properly or indicate if it requires replacement.
Step 1
Switch on the DAS, and leave it to warm up for at least 20 minutes. Though it may reach 64°C much sooner (around 5 minutes), allowing a longer heating period ensures the temperature is properly estabilised.
Step 2
Apply a thin, even layer of thermal paste to the tip of the flexible thermometer probe. Ensure the entire probe tip is coated for the most accurate reading.
Step 3
Open the lid and insert the probe fully into one of the heating grid's cavities, ensuring it reaches the bottom (see below).
Step 4
Securely close the lid to maintain a controlled environment, and wait at least 3 minutes for the temperature to re-estabilise.
Step 5
Note your thermometer's reading. If the temperature reading is within ±2°C of 64°C, the DAS is functioning correctly.
❗If it is not the case, contact us at support@delvotest.com to arrange a replacement.
🔂 If you have multiple DASes, repeat this process for each.
Step 6
Once that's all been done, it's time to thoroughly clean the heating grid from any residue thermal paste. More generally, especially if you're following the Installation and Setup flow🔗, it's now a good moment to make sure your DAS(es) are thoroughly clean before proceeding with its three standard calibrations—position, uniformity, and colour. In the next article, we'll look at best practices on how to do this.
